Humans are stupid

“Why we Make Mistakes” by Joseph T. Hallinan is not so much revealing as it is decidedly disappointing to read. That’s because the generally idea the author proposes can be boiled down to the following:

1) We make snap judgements
2) We are overconfident
3) We think too much

Hence we are prone to making errors, and to err is human, correct? It’s a bit sad to be confronted with such concise and distilled information about our stupidity, however, and how our hindsight is so wonderfully rose-coloured.

Funny, though, how I thought the librarians at my local library had managed to mangle putting the cover on the book. It’s shaped that way.
